Project Name:

Confidential Real Estate Website Modernization – HubSpot CMS

Tech Use:

HubSpot CMS, HubL, HTML5, SCSS / CSS3, JavaScript, Custom HubSpot Modules

Overview

For this project, The Webplant collaborated with a marketing agency to support the modernization of a HubSpot CMS website for a real estate organization. The platform already contained a large number of existing pages and legacy components, while the client simultaneously introduced a new design system for future updates.

The key objective was to allow both legacy and newly designed components to function together without disrupting the live website. The implementation needed to maintain stability for existing content while enabling the gradual rollout of modernized page sections and modules.

To accomplish this, the HubSpot theme was customized to support both legacy and new modules within the same architecture. This allowed the client to progressively update their website without requiring a full redesign or migration.

Problem Statement

  • Supporting Legacy and Modern Design Systems
The website included existing components that were still actively used while new design elements were being introduced.
  • Maintaining Visual Consistency
Both design systems needed to coexist without creating inconsistencies in layout or styling.
  • Avoiding Disruption to the Live Site
Updates needed to be implemented without affecting the stability of the current website or existing content.
  • Enabling Gradual Modernization
The client required the ability to progressively replace older components over time.

Implementation and Capabilities

HubSpot Theme Customization

The existing HubSpot theme was enhanced to support both legacy and newly developed modules. This allowed the site to maintain existing functionality while enabling modernized sections to be introduced.

Legacy Component Support

Older modules and page components were preserved and optimized to ensure they continued functioning correctly within the updated theme structure.

New Modular Components

New modules were developed with updated design patterns and styling. These modules allowed future pages to follow the modernized design system.

Gradual Design Migration

The architecture allowed the client to progressively replace legacy components over time without needing to rebuild the entire site at once.

Impact

  • Enabled the coexistence of legacy and modern design systems within the same website.
  • Allowed the client to modernize the platform gradually without disrupting live operations.
  • Maintained consistent user experience across old and new components.
  • Provided a stable and scalable foundation for future website updates.
